The Pakistan U16 national football team is set to make history by competing in their first-ever UEFA competition. The Shaheens are traveling to Kazakhstan to participate in the UEFA Elite Youth Development Tournament, testing their mettle against high-level European opposition.

The tournament will take place in Kazakhstan from April 24 to April 30, featuring the host nation Kazakhstan, alongside Russia, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan.

The core of the team will be formed by the squad that recently represented the nation in the AFC U17 Asian Cup Qualifiers, bolstered by fresh talent. According to journalist Zeeshan Shafi, the preliminary squad was selected following a rigorous two-day open trial in Islamabad on April 2–3. Initially, 48 players were shortlisted before the roster was trimmed down to 30.

Preparations are already in full swing with a dedicated training camp currently underway in Wah Cantt. The camp is being led by head coach Essa Khan, working alongside assistant coach Muhammad Nadeem Kaka and goalkeeping coach Jaffar Khan.

Tournament Fixtures All matches will be played at the Namys Stadium in the BIIK Sports Complex.
